I am currently teaching Special Education in Missouri. I am certified in Special Education, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, ESOL and Elementary Education. I also have an Iowa and Florida Teaching Certificate.
I have taught in Georgia, Florida and now Missouri. Most of my experience comes from teaching for 12 years in Hillsborough County, Tampa, Florida, and the 8th largest school district in the nation
(2010 census). I have taught Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Autistic, Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Intellectually Disabled and Physically Disabled.
I had a brother who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome.  I have a daughter who is diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and learning disabilities.  I am able to provide experience from the point of view of a sibling, a mother and a teacher of an individual with special needs.
I am currently taking some more graduate classes in Special Education to stay knowledgeable about current research and laws.
